Jesus - The Beauty of It All
Monday, September 8, 2008
wow, i had originally typed this up and saved it to draft january 29th of this year. i guess it wasn't time for it then, but it's been on my heart tonite. with all of the ugliness in the world of high unemployment, economical instability, murders, rapes, homelessness, politics (i had to go there!), it's easy to lose focus on the positive.
i believe even in the ugly, one can see beauty. racism, for instance, can distort and get one's mind and thoughts so out of focus, yet i see so much beauty in the differences of skin color, facial features, body shapes, cultures, languages, etc. the world is so colorful with different shades of people, and frankly, i think it would be boring if we all looked alike and sounded alike--kind of like the Stepford Wives and Husbands, if you get my drift.
thru this poem, God has allowed me to see a little of His beauty in the light that He does. beauty isn't always something you see looking thru the natural eye, but beauty can be in one's actions and very character. i hope as you read this poem, you'll think of God's beauty in your daily living and reflect upon it.
Jesus, I love Your beauty in the trees,
I love Your beauty in the leaves,
I love Your beauty on the ground,
I love Your beauty all around.
I love Your beauty in the sky,
I love Your beauty from on High,
I love Your beauty from east to west,
But the beauty in You I love the best.
I love the beauty You've placed in me,
Your love and light for all to see,
I love Your joy, Your peace, Your rest,
But the beauty in You I love the best.
Where i go,
Your beauty is there,
Whether to sleep, eat, or on the go,
Your beauty--it's everywhere.
Even in the shower, water rippling down my spine,
Your beauty, O Lord, I'm so glad You're mine,
Water falling, touching, caressing me o' so gently,
Your love, so beautiful, I almost can't bear it.
Jesus, Your beauty--it shows
In all that You do,
Loving me, giving unto me
Your beauty--Jesus is You.
Jesus, Your beauty is there
In all that I see,
Some beauty people pay for,
But Your beauty, Praise God, is free.

Life Is What It Is
Thursday, March 20, 2008
sometimes i give an explanation of my poetry, such as how i got the poem, or what i was doing when God gave me the words. i got this one the same day i posted it here while i was helping to take care of one of my closest friends who is battling leukemia, among a few other things. taking care of her brings back some memories of when i was caring for my husband before he passed on.
LIFE IS WHAT IT IS
My heart pains for what was,
Yet never again will be.
For the past is gone,
The present is now,
And the future is what is yet to be.

The Unique Me
Monday, February 25, 2008
My eyes see
not as others
My ears hear
not as others
My mind thinks
not as others
My heart feels
not as others
Because I'm me.
I am unique!

The Voice of Hope
Monday, February 11, 2008
Let faith arise.
Let hope not fade away.
Believe, believe
For today is your day
To arise above the world’s concerns and cares,
Above fakeness and lies and deceit and despair.
Just believe,
For today is your day.
I bring you new hope, new dreams, new visions.
It would seem to not be moving
But I bring you new hope,
Eyes to see, not as others
Ears to hear what sounds like mutters,
Yet it’s the Voice within
That speaks of hope,
Hope to soar far above eagles,
Hope to believe as no other can,
For I give you renewed life to be what you want,
What I’ve ordained you to do and be,
All that’s inside of you and me
Who forgives your sins,
Rebirths, renews from deep within
Your heart and mind and depths of your soul,
Rebirths, renews, taking away the old,
Cleansing all filth from my inner soul
To bring new strength, new life, new dreams, new visions.
I AM The Voice of Hope
That speaks from within
To bring new life, new hope, new dreams
To those who believe, who can conceive, who’ll choose to believe
My purpose and plans that I have ordained.
I’m the Voice of Hope,
The Voice of Reason,
The Voice of Life.

Alone, Yet Not Alone
Saturday, January 26, 2008
I walk alone,
Though not totally,
For there is One with me,
Invisible, unseen
To the natural eye.
Look into the spirit,
You too will see,
Though in the natural
I am alone,
Far and deep
There is One
Who walks along with me.

Perfection
Sunday, December 30, 2007
not only do we grow in stature in life, but we grow grow in wisdom and maturity, and we should strive for perfection. not perfection as "we dot every i and cross every t, and never make mistakes," but perfection as far as our attitudes are concerned--doing things with right motives. right attitudes equals higher altitudes in our lives. It is time to grow, mature and be all that God has called us to be.
Perfection
Moving on unto perfection
Is what God wants us to do,
Onto spiritual maturity,
He's talking to me and you.
Onto higher heights in Him,
And deeper depths into His Word,
The spiritual revelations He will give
Our ears have never heard.
Showing us things we've never seen
In a supernatural realm,
In order to attain these things,
We must yield the more to Him.
We must give our total minds
And all that we possess,
Then let Him take complete control,
Give us His peace and rest.
Moving on unto perfection
And that spiritual maturity,
Our hearts and minds on one accord
To where God wants us to be.
In that supernatural realm,
God wants to take us to new dimensions,
Let Him, let Him, take control
And bless us in our ventures.

Birds
Sunday, December 2, 2007
when i was younger, birds used to get on my nerves because they'd wake me up with all that "tweeting" when i was trying to sleep. *lol* i'm older now, and more appreciative of God's beauty in His creation, plus i'm thankful to wake up each morning and that i'm able to hear the birds as they sing and tweet and praise.
i like to look out my windows at the birds flying thru the air with no cares and worries (or so it seems). they don't carry suitcases, or bags with food in it, yet God always provides food, water, and shelter for them. that's how our Father wants us to be: going about our business, trusting Him to meet all of our needs. sometimes they fly in and out of formation, and i think about how organized they are.
Birds
Birds whistling, chirping
Flying, oh, so free,
Through the air, above the ground,
And jumping from tree-to-tree.
Not a worry in the world,
Or a burden to carry,
Flying about, oh, so free
Gliding, and not in a hurry.
